Once again the European Grand Prix hits the streets in Valancia Spain! This is once of those circuits that is known for not being the most exciting but makes up for it with glitz, glamour and parties!
I think Ferrari and McLaren should have a good chance this weekend and the practices reflected that, although once again Red Bull look to be the favourites!
Free Practice 1
Pastor Maldonado hit the top of the times in FP1 just ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. Historically Red Bull have taken pole and translated it to a win for the last two GPs at Valencia, so this puts them in a good spot.
As with most races this season the free practice sessions were close with the top 13 cars times being separated by less than a second!

Free Practice 2
Vettel topped FP2 times which makes him a strong contender for pole. He has won the last 2 European Grand Prix and usually holds back until qualifying so the other drivers do not know how well he can drive the cicruit.
Less than a second separated the top 15 cars with an overall field spread of five seconds.
Times were:
Alonso looked “OK” in both sessions with a 5th and a 7th in the times. As the times are so close this means he is still in with a good chance for the race.
Massa once again struggled to eclipse his teammate only bagging a 14th in FP1 and 15th in FP2 which still makes us wonder…. it it Alonso outracing the car…. or Massa not being on form?
